Where to watch the 2022 Billboard Music Awards

The 2022 Billboard Music Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas, NV. Viewers can tune in at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Sunday, May 15, 2022. The ceremony will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the same venue that hosted the Grammy Awards earlier this year.

Fans can also follow the awards ceremony on Peacock. NBC’s streaming platform will broadcast the Billboard Music Awards live for subscribers. According to BillboardXfinity and Cox Internet subscribers can have a free Peacock account they can access to broadcast the rewards.

Who performs at the Billboard Music Awards?

The BBMAs are bringing in a slew of headline-grabbing artists this year. Travis Scott will give his first televised performance since his Astroworld concert in November which saw the deaths of 10 people. Controversial country singer Morgan Wallen, who has come under fire for his previous racist remarks, is also set to perform.

Ed Sheeran, Silk Sonic, Burna Boy, Miranda Lambert, Florence + The Machine, Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, Rauw Alejandro and Maxwell will all take to the stage in Las Vegas.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers were supposed to perform but canceled. The Billboard Music Awards tweeted on May 11, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be unable to perform at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.” The post continued with, “They can’t wait to see you on the road this summer!”

On the same day, Dan + Shay and Machine Gun Kelly were announced as performers. Mary J Blige will receive the Icon Award and will also perform.

The Weeknd leads with 17 nominations

“Take My Breath” singer The Weeknd leads all artists with 17 nominations. His collab with Ariana Grande, “Save Your Tears” is up for six. Doja Cat is close behind with 14 nominations. Justin Bieber, Kanye “Ye” West and Olivia Rodrigo all earned 13 nominations.

Rodrigo is also a finalist for Best New Artist. She faces Givēon, Masked Wolf, Pooh Shiesty and The Kid LAROI. This is the third year in a row that an artist has been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Artist in the same year.

The most earning artist of all time, Drake, is nominated for 11 awards this year. his album Certified Lover is up for the Billboard 200 album category. Although he is also nominated for Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist and Billboard 200 Artist.

BTS is the most nominated group at this year’s BBMAs with 7 chances to win a trophy. The K-pop group will not be present as they prepare to release new music in June.
