Rahman’s daughter revealed that the two got engaged on her birthday (December 29) in the presence of her close family and loved ones.

“With the blessing of the Almighty, I am happy to announce all of my engagement to you with Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed @riyasdeenriyan, a budding entrepreneur and wizkid sound engineer,” she announced on the photo-sharing platform .

“The engagement took place on December 29, my birthday in the presence of my close family and loved ones. #Thank you,” she captioned her message.

The date of the duo’s wedding has yet to be announced. Recently, Rushda Rahman, the niece of music genius and daughter of Tamil star Rahman, also got married in a lavish ceremony held in Chennai.

In 2020, Khatija was surrounded by controversy when writer Taslima Nasreen called her burqa “stifling.”

However, the music legend’s daughter handled it with maturity and said it was her choice to wear whatever she wanted.

Khatija made her song debut with the song Pudhiya Manidha from “Ethiran” by Rajinikanth. Last year Khatija Rahman performed a song called “Rock A Bye Baby” for Kriti Sanon’s comedy drama “Mimi”, composed by her father.

Rahman and his wife Saira Banu are the parents of three children, Khatija, Raheema and AR Ameen.
