Nigerian Wavy The Creator named Apple Music Up Next artist

Up Next is the global steaming platform artist development program aimed at identifying and showcasing emerging talent.

Musician, photographer, fashion designer and filmmaker, Wavy The Creator joins Rema, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Ajebo Hustlers and Jaido P on Apple Music’s growing list of Up Next artists from Nigeria. The vast roster of past talent includes Stefflon Don, Bad Bunny, Koffee, and Megan Thee Stallion, among others.

“Honoré is an understatement,” she said. “Being selected for Apple Music’s Up Next Nigeria makes it seem like everything I put in the universe is finally coming up to date. Everything I have fought for and worked for seems more achievable than ever.

As the latest issue of Up Next to spotlight in Nigeria, Wavy The Creator will be featured on Apple Music Following playlist. The curated playlist features a vibrant class of new and emerging artists handpicked by Apple Music publishers around the world. The playlist is genre independent and represents a selection of artists who excite global publishers and wish to exhibit to a wider audience.

Wavy The Creator started out in showbiz as rapper Olamide’s official photographer, and rose to international acclaim with his single “HIGH” in 2017. The musician is also behind the PS Thanks for waiting EP. Its inclusion in Apple Up Next comes after Nigerian singer Tems was also added to the schedule last month.
