Kelley Mangahas

WARNER Music Philippines (WMP) has officially launched GLOPM or Global Pinoy Music, a collaborative movement that strengthens its global effort to promote Filipino music.

The campaign aims to showcase Pinoy musicians across borderless platforms while creating opportunities for
to team up with other artists from around the world.

WMP pairs national talent with Filipino producers and / or Fil-Global artists through GLOPM. The initiative aims to be a major source of original and diverse Filipino music, with tracks that reflect the culture and shared experiences of every Filipino. With this, WMP enables national and international musicians to learn from each other, as well as create music that will resonate with Pinoys around the world.

Kelley Mangahas, Director of WMP A&R, explains that GLOPM is an initiative to provide more opportunities for the music of Filipino artists to be heard while helping them to elevate their sound. “GLOPM aspires to make Filipino artists felt, seen and heard on the world stage,” says Mangahas. “WMP will use its resources as a record label and leverage the global expertise and knowledge in music production in the Philippines. “

WMP CEO Sarah Ismail said she was excited to showcase Filipino talent to the global community: “We are very proud to launch GLOPM as a movement that amplifies and elevates Filipino talent to the global community. I believe in the immense talent of Filipino artists, and GLOPM is the perfect platform for us to do just that. They deserve worldwide recognition.

GLOPM has launched its first series of versions. Indie-pop duo Leanne & Naara collaborated with internationally acclaimed producer August Rigo, known for his work with Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Sean Kingston and BTS, among others, for the single titled “Anticipation”.

“We’re always open to working with different producers, but I guess the excitement came when we found out August had Filipino blood as well. He’s got some really big names he’s worked with under his belt, but the funny thing is it never felt at all. He’s a cool guy and very easy to talk to. From the start, we understood that he was doing it out of love and that passion and our openness made the process easier, ”explains Leanne.

“It’s such a privilege to work with such a talented and practical producer like August. Brian Lotho, our first album producer, has also worked with him before. We know very well his great work with Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, BTS and many other amazing artists, ”adds Naara.

“Leanne & Naara have very beautiful voices, that’s what I look for first in an artist. Deeper than what I heard
progression and progression listening to their previous projects, which I really liked. I wanted to
to be part of their evolution because I loved where they were going with the direction of their music ”, says

“Working with Leanne & Narra was no problem. They sent me a few songs, and they were all crazy, but I immediately heard a vision for ‘Anticipation’. I sent them vocal notes of me playing with the chords to show them the musical direction, and they loved it, so I went ahead and did a rough production. After getting their awesome vocals back, I asked my guy Ricky Tillo from Lady Gaga’s band to put down some guitars, which really completed the track and made the sound complete. Now we are there.

“We feel honored to work with Xerxes who have been in the industry for a while, plus he’s someone who has worked with a lot of great artists. We thought about the importance of this opportunity and were looking forward to working with him when our A&R first introduced him to us, ”said reon. “When we first met Xerxes, we were a little intimidated because he’s a foreigner, and being this multi-platinum producer, we thought maybe he was going to get strict and intimidating. But when we got to know him he turned out to be a really fun, humble, goofy guy. Not only that, he is also very open-minded and very careful in improving our sound. He made our song so much better. 10 times better, to be exact.

Xerxes also raves about Reon: “They gave me a pure and contemporary indie-pop vibe.
such beautiful voices combined with inspiring lyrics and melodies. Mega-talents. We crossed effortlessly
the song. The aesthetic state of ‘Back To The Times’ gave me so much inspiration. I just needed to improve
the beautiful essence of the demo.

Quest’s “Good Old Days” is recorded with award-winning production duo Kuya Productions, which won
Massive mainstream popularity with collaborations with Christina Aguilera, Jesse McCartney, Alessia Cara and Jordin Sparks, to name a few.

“Good Old Days” reveals bittersweet truths about living – or surviving – in the “new normal”. The quest does
sure we both look at the world looking inside too – reveling in the nostalgia, embracing the
present and always looking to the future. When asked what the song taught him in terms of
putting himself in this nostalgic space, Quest says, “That you can enjoy this good feeling that you had in
the past and find it in the future. Or better yet, create it. I really believe life will only get better, and that is
always up to us and how we respond to our daily lives. Life will always be filled with good and evil
moments, people, opportunities. I guess I learned to magnify the good and learn from the bad. The
when i embraced my life with all of my strengths and weaknesses, that’s when i learned to celebrate
every moment given to me. I am maximizing what I currently have. Stay grateful in the present. But also aim to grow
and succeed along the way.

Warner Music Philippines also welcomes Catriona Gray as a new addition to the GLOPM roster which
wrote a song called “Love Language” which is recorded in collaboration with the eminent Australian
producer Cabu.

“This is a new chapter in my life as an artist, and I am honored to be a part of Warner Music Philippines”
GLOPM initiative because this movement showcases the ambitious talent of Filipinos in the field of music. ‘Love
Language ‘is my first foray into songwriting, and it felt like a perfect collaboration working with Cabu for
this single, ”says Catriona.
